Finding a Hero

Seems like this birth father topic is coming to me in music. Tonight my darling fiance and I went to see Jeffrey Gaines in concert. My daughters father introduced me to Jeffrey. Amazing acoustic singer, songwriter, performer. You really must look him up.

Tonight the song “Life of the Living” struck  me. The following lyric in particular.

“The moment you can live without the hurt
A gift to yourself you will be giving”

Read the entire song here.

One of my favorites, and one that reminds me deeply of bdad is “Hero”.  Embedded below for your listening pleasure.

There was a time I wanted him to be my hero.  I later decided to be my own.
