So many words to say, so many hugs (and gratitudes) to give you. You have been the catalyst for my reunion, my “awakening” and triggering of a time so long ago in our lives, though forever embedded and enmeshed in the fabric of hearts, lives.
There is a bitter sweetness to my reunion. For I know so many others endure an endless ache that can only be filled by their children. But mostly because YOU endure it, and I love this heart that aches so. I do not choose to play a part in its pain. And also because I have learned from your experience (and that of others) and am all too aware that this new found joy may be fleeting, that my reunion is only as strong as the wish and whimsy of my son. We will only go forward should HE choose it. This is a very precarious rope to walk and yet I feel as if my very survival depends on it; depends on his choices, not my own.
I am tremendously honored that you might ask me to speak for you, or in your place, but not as privileged as to call you my friend. Instead, perhaps I will stand beside you and find joy in the moments that are now and the blessings we find in each other. Deepest love and peace to you, my friend.
