"America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page of the policies of the past." – Barack Obama
With the excitement of the elections underway I cannot focus very well. My thoughts and words are scattered and running amuck.
I am hoping, praying (and I dont pray, you might recall), and doing a little dance that it is indeed a Barack landslide. Gosh, how I wish I was in Chicago today.
I was just chuckling over a comment from a coworker who was noting the reaction in financial markets worldwide to our elections.
"I guess this Bush guy was responsible for more than we thought, eh?" he says.
Indeed, my friend, indeed.
Equally if not more amusing is the exchange with my son this a.m.
How can you tell if you are wearing too much eyeliner? Have your eleven year old son say to you as you walk out the door to the car "Hey, Mom, you look like Ozzy today. You have Ozzy eyes." As you then laugh, then ponder if you should check your makeup, decide against doing so but listen to same son sing the lyrics to "Crazy Train" as you drive him to school.
As he sings them, obviously slightly mocking you but in good fun, realize that some of those lyrics seem to be rather appropriate for today.
"Crazy, but thats how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe its not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate"
