A Thank You

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Many thanks to all of you for your supportive comments. Additional thanks to Joy, Dan, Beth, Margie, Marianne, Liz, Jane and everyone else that wrote me privately.

I greatly appreciate your kind thoughts, your insight, and the depth of your caring. Many of your emails moved me to tears.

I am going to cease discussing this topic going forward.

I am okay. Really.  As the Japanese proverb says "fall seven times, stand up eight".

I am standing up.

7 Thoughts.

  1. I completely understand moving forward and not dwelling and I am so glad you are okay.

  2. Hi, I’m not sure if you remember me, I emailed with you very, very briefly awhile back about another site you had or something, I’m not sure of the specifics. But I’ve lurked ever since. My mom was adopted (closed adoption) and this site teaches me something new and gives me greater insights everytime I come here (I don’t comment because I don’t feel I know enough to offer to the “conversation” so to speak, plus I’m really shy). I just wanted to offer my support and wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know I couldn’t deal with the things you’ve had to and your words are amazing to read. I just felt I had to say that and that I think you “standing up” in the face of such things has inspired me to do that more often in my own life. Thanks.

  3. Yes, stand up. We moms do it over and over again. Out of love, sometimes for our children, sometimes for ourselves. I’m proud of you.
