“Let every man or woman here, if you never hear me again, remember this, that if you wish to be great at all, you must begin where you are and with what you are. He who would be great anywhere must first be great in his own Philadelphia.†– Russel Conwell
So I get into Philly tommorow night around 8. My girl Robin is picking me up and then I will check into my hotel and we will look for a place to eat or drink (or drink or drink).
I wrote to Jo today to see if she wanted to come and meet us friday night or wait until the weekend.
So excited to see them both. Two fabulous twenty something reunited adoptees that never cease to amaze me with their strength and emotional fortitude. I do need to talk with Robin about cutting down on her red pills. She has ingested far too many lately and too quickly. Often before swallowing one she is off in search of the next and chokes it down. She doesn’t even use a tequila chaser! This woman is hard core. Admirable for sure, but nothing wrong with a bit of balance. Hopefully we won’t talk all adoption gobbly gook and will get in some laughs. (And maybe a few tequlia chasers? Well, maybe not. I don’t do tequila. But anything with vodka will do me just fine.)
Not sure how the weather will be but I do hope to get some time to do, well, nothing. Nothing means visit the Rodin Museum (The Thinker is surely a distant relative. I must say hello to him.), The Art Museum, find a place for a cheese steak, walk, talk, be a tourist in Philly and just relax.
Life has been mucho stressful lately. The house has had several showings but no offers yet. I start my new job next week.
Off to the City of Brotherly love for a bit of Sisterly Love.
It is good to be me.
