Standing Up

My youngest son has been having some challenges in life and learning. They are not mine to share so forgive me if I do not go into detail. I will, however, share this.

I learned many things through my adoption surrender experience and one of the greatest lessons is that mothers are supposed to fight for their children.

Parenting is hard and we do not get to make it easy on ourselves without much thought and consideration.

While we can explain it, defend it, justify it, the fact remains my mother did not stand up for me. She made my teenage pregnancy easy for herself and others. She failed me.

The fact also remains that despite my own ignorance, fear and other factors, I did not stand up for my daughter. I made it easy for my mother and others. I failed my daughter.

I WILL STAND UP FOR MY SON.

I will stop the familial insanity.

1 Thought.
